Acolytes

Acolytes have the privilege of carrying on the noble tradition of lighting candles to point to the visible presence of God, the Light of our salvation. This is especially seen in the Person of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world. Acolytes, because they sit in front, contribute to the "tone" of worship, which is reverent, joyful and dignified. The acolytes' behavior exemplifies these worship characteristics as they lead the service by actively participating in it.
