Flashlight Camp serves four purposes: to extend the teachings of Sunday School into the summer for children; to outreach to children of the community in a fun way that is less threatening than a traditional Vacation Bible School; to help teach all children who participate the value of giving back to the community through missions projects; and to help adult volunteers from the congregation forge strong relationships with youth.

"We are the Light of the World"

This was the message received by children attending Flashlight Camp ( Vacation Bible School ) at Our Savior Lutheran in June 2004. Students had great fun while learning to build, cook, create, play a sport and sing! The children (ages 5 to 11) donated birthday cakes, candles and related birthday items to Our Savior Lutheran's Food Bank so that no child would have to go without a birthday celebration. The children who attended Flashlight Camp really are the "light of the world".
