Confirmation
Confirmation is a vow (a public solemn promise to God) assuming personal responsibility for (confirming) the promises made for a person by their parents and sponsors at their Baptism, following a time of formal instruction.
Confirmation Instruction is:
- The academic religious education in preparation for communicant membership in Our Savior Lutheran Church.
- Using the Word of God so the Holy Spirit can create a dynamic faith.
- Developing Bible study skills and habits.
- Developing a pattern of regular church participation.
- The responsibility of the parents, specifically the father. (Genesis 18:19, Deuteronomy 4:9-10, 6:4-7, and 11:19, Proverbs 1:8, 6:20, and 22:6, Psalms 34:11, 44:1, and 78:5, Ephesians 6:4, II Timothy 1:5 and 3:15).
